This service alone saves valuable space being ruined by landfill as over 1,000,000 machines in London are disposed of in the ground in this way each year!
According to the Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition (SVTC), "e-waste" - dead computers and other consumer-electronics cast-offs - is the fastest growing portion of our rubbiskh waste system, with consumer-electronics devices also accounting for 40 percent of the lead in landfills
Electronic Waste Recycling has become a hot issue among tech companies, particularily in California where the legislature is considering a bill that would require computer makers to arrange for the recycling of 50 percent of all machines by 2005 and 90 percent by 2010. Currently, just 20 percent of computing machinery is recycled. A complete waste of usable systems !
A prompt service of collection is available. CAd dot Services will cover all London Postcodes and the home counties, minimum amount would be 5 PC's but individual machines can be brought to the office in SE6 by the client/their party for refurbishment and recycling. Collections are free for over 5 units.. Any operating software and licences would be welcome to further keep costs down for the end user.
This is more of an environmental effort rather than for-profit
Equipment that cannot be recycled:
Keyboards, Machines under 500Mhz PII and Broken Material - This is mainly due to germ factor.
